Reflexology for Sciatic Pain

There are several different  lower back  disorders that can cause sciatica. It  is often described as mild to intense pain in the left or right legs and is caused by compression of one or more of the five sets of nerve roots in the lower back.

Reflexology may be able to reduce the pain and effects of sciatica. When we are in pain we  contract our muscles this causes more pain, which in turn causes our muscles to contract more.  We end up in a vicious circle of pain and contraction which just never seems to end.

This is where Reflexology may be of use By inducing deep relaxation Reflexology may be able to stop this cycle, even if only for a short time.   Reflexology may also be able to help with nerve flow to the area of the back causing the pain. The same goes for the blood and the lymph flows to the problem area of the back, which can help with healing and reducing pain in the area.
